What's New??

I know, I know it has been a long time. I am going to try and be better about posting what is going on in the Woodruff household.
So Kylee just had her 7th birthday and we are preparing for a party next weekend. She wants to go ice staking but I can't find a place that we call me back about prices for party packages. So I think we are going to do cake and gifts at the house and then off to the ice staking rink we go. Hopefully she enjoys her party and so do her friends. Sometimes it seems like since her birthday is right after Christmas all the partying is out of me.
Violet is doing well, she is of course coming into her own personality. We are working on her going to the potty but she doesn't still to be into as much as we would like.
James and I are making through just working and getting stuff done on the weekends. Always trying to make sure the house is clean, clothes are washed, and food is made. The life of a family.

Spring

Spring is finally here. Over the past week and a half the weather has been great with the occasional rain storm. The girls have played outside, we have had soccer games, grilled outside, and even ate lunch outside one day last weekend. It is still a little chilly in the morning but by mid day it is beautiful.
Things are going well for all of us. Kylee is doing well in school and it is hard to believe but she is in kindergarten this year and will be having her graduation in just a few weeks (mid May). Violet is doing new stuff daily. Kylee and Violet are now sharing a room all Kylee's idea. She just didn't want to be separated from us. So James and I got a bunk bed and changed it around a bit and now it is a loft. Kylee sleeping up top and Violet in a toddler bed on the bottom. It turned out really cute and girls are doing great with being in the same room. I think that having Kylee in there helped with Violet transfering from a crib to a big girl bed.
Pictures to be posted later.

Once again....it's been forever

So is anyone actually still reading my blog because it has been forever between posts and I am so sorry. Not much has been going on but always seems to be busy. Well since I last posted all of us have had a cold or been sick in some way. It has snowed here a couple of times and every time we try to schedule Kylee's birthday party it snows or like last weekend she had strep throat. James and I figure by spring we should be able to give her a great party.
Well today is yet another snow day and I am at home with the girls. Violet is napping and at the moment Kylee is trying to learn to sit still. She isn't doing that great. James need have to go to work so it is just me and the girls. We are having fun playing, watching TV, and Kylee has done a few worksheets of practice for homework.
Kylee has started playing soccer and her first game is this weekend. It is suppose to be in the mid 50's funnier huh snow on Wednesday and spring weather by weekend. Violet is talking more and I am sure she understands perfectly what she is saying but not us so much. She does understand us and right now she listens pretty. Violet loves to shut doors, pet the dogs, give kisses, and recently took up throwing things away ( got to keep an eye on her with this one).
I guess I better leave you with a few pictures. Have a great Wednesday.

Look how long her hair has gotten.

Christmas all over again

Well I guess it is about time to get some pictures from Christmas up here. It was a wonderful day filled with family, food, and just enjoying everyone around us. The girls got up around 5:30 (really Kylee got up and because Violet heard all the noise she woke up also) Kylee got really excited to see all the Ariel stuff that Santa had left her and well Violet she didn't know what to think about all of stuff. While Kylee looked at all of her stuff from Santa, Violet decided to go through a few of Kylee's things as well and find the candy (hee, hee). She didn't get any candy from Santa and I guess she was feeling left out. James was in charge of her because I was handing out presents and I guess he thought a candy cane, ring pop, and some chocolate weren't to much before breakfast. It was Christmas after all :)

After seeing all of Santa's stuff I had to the kids eat some of the monkey bread I made the night before and I got some much needed caffine before opening any presents. Once we started to get under the tree boy was it fun. Violet wasn't much into opening her presents but once she saw what was inside she wanted to play with the toys. Kylee was a great help.

Grandma and PawPaw came over with even more gifts. The girls opened those and continued to play with all the new stuff. When they left Violet took a nap, Kylee played, and James and I finished getting things together for the Christmas lunch that was at our house. Just my parents, my brothers, sister-in-law, and their three kids. So it wasn't to crowded in our tiny house. Plenty of food but everybody was still full from breakfast so we are going to have do it later next year I guess. pretty much that was our day. went to bed happy, fed, and joyful.

Putting up Christmas

Now it is December and Thanksgiving is all done. Around the house we have started to put up Christmas decorations. Friday me, my friend Rachel, and her sister-in-law Rachel went out shopping for Black Friday. As it has been in the past I got a lot of stuff and most of my Christmas shopping is done. Just a few little things need to be picked up. Saturday was a day of rest and relaxing after staying up and shopping the day before. James was very helpful and let me get my much needed rest. I guess he knew if I didn't get enough rest I would be grouchy. So Sunday we went to church and rested for a little while and did some housework. But by late afternoon we got the Christmas stuff out of the attic and started to get the lights up. By this time James was not feeling the greatest but he was a trooper and helped me put the lights up around the trees out front. Thanks honey.
I got the tree up in the house and then yesterday I put up the village my grandma gave me. (I wasn't able to put the lights with it this year) My grandma in Indiana had this wonderful village that she has always put up in her house. She offered me the village last year and I was very excited. A few years ago I started my own but since I have been married my village disappeared from one Christmas to the next. I know with grandma's village that will never happen. So grandma thank you so much for the village I will continue to put it up every year until one my children or grandchildren decide they want it.
So here are a few pictures:
